white house faces. tot: if you want to talk legacy -- about obama's legacy and how he's doing with these issues, specifically healthcare.gov, some of the criticism he has received, give us a call. guest: with the national security agency's eavesdropping ask posers your car he was saying here is not aware that the united states is eavesdropping on the german chancellor's personal cell phone. obviously the glitches to the health care website is another that he has acknowledged he was not prepared for. on their own, these may seem relatively minor, but added up you get the perception of a white house and a management team there that is trying to do a lot of different things at the same time and not speaking for the american people. he wasn't speaking for insurance companies. this does make him a liar. i just want to talk about legacy. it can be before he leaves office or after. is going to rule obama and hillary. they were trying to protect votes through consistent lives using various people as spokespeople and also, the perception they did not need -- they were so successful in we do

white house says it's working to fix those problems. obama care is designed to help more people get insurance coverage. what about making americans healthier? dr. sanjay gupta is joining us to you. you wrote a very provocative article on cnn.com, it's now posted which says there's too much focus on the website. explain the driving point you're making here. >> well, i think everyone's focused on the website and it's become this horse race looking at numbers from month to month and figuring out just how well the site is going to work. obviously it's very important. i've talked about this quite a bit. if you look at some off the goals of health reform overall, not just health insurance reform but health reform, it was certainly about increasing access so more people had health care insurance but more so, it was about trying to create a healthier america. and that was sort of the point of my article was let's not lose sight of the big picture in all of this and how do we create a healthier america. there was a fascinating study done a few years ago out of the state of oregon. it looked

continue to see that. thank you. >> the obama administration said it has met it's deadline to fix the healthcare.gov website. the administration promised all would be well in november. we will gather to the white house with more details, mike, this was a big deadline for the administration. are all the problems with the website solved? >> reporter: they aren't all solved but they say its like night and day after that disastrous launch of octobe october 1st. they cite certain benchmarks, certain metrics, error rates down to 1%. they were 6% at the outset of this debacle in the estimation of administration officials. as many as 800,000 a day and they achieved 90% functionality. you recall that by the end of last month, november 31st they had promised an 80% functionality. by their own estimation they have exceeded that. but that's by their own estimation. for the time being we'll have to take their word for it. it's all a anecdotal at this point. there are questions about the website's security when people are entering sensitive personal information and data, and about insurers on the b
